Thank you again for coming out. We have had nothing but positive feedback. It was great to build on the momentum from your visit. Our hope is every year we reduce the stigma more and equip people. Thank you for helping us with that.

Gerry and Elaine have presented seminars at our church on more than one occasion and each and every time they do so, we are so glad to experience their leadership. The seminars are significant to us as a church as they have helped to equip us corporately to better minister to those experiencing mental health challenges. The impact of these seminars goes far beyond just our corporate ministry, as this training has equipped individual church members to be more effective in reaching out to family, friends and coworkers who may also be experiencing mental health challenges. Engaging in the seminars has created an increased compassion and understanding towards those experiencing mental health challenges and has better positioned our church and our people to respond in a meaningful way. I would highly recommend attending or hosting one of these seminars.

I just wanted to again say thank you for coming to Bradford Community Church and teaching the Mental Health Seminar. The impact of your teaching has had a lasting impact on our church family and community. The awareness surrounding mental health and the associated stigma has created a safe atmosphere for people to not be ok. The resulting effect has been liberating for people that struggle with mental health concerns that now know it is ok to come and ask for support. The beautiful result is that not only has that changed the culture of our church family internally, it has caused our congregation to engage with our surrounding community that exists outside of our church walls. Our church is now filled with real people with real challenges that stand together in unity to all work together towards a healthier future.
After almost 31 years of policing, I myself struggle with mental health issues and have been diagnosed with PTSD. Your seminar has opened the door for me to tell my story to others and that has been amazing to have value again. I don’t know all of the keys to correcting my mental health issues, thus clearly not being able to fix others, but being able to encourage others in their journey has been healing for me.
Thank you again for what you have done for all of us. If I could leave you with a word of encouragement, PLEASE keep doing what you are doing! You are making a difference in the lives of those you touch. If you ever need anything, please feel free to reach out anytime.

The Trauma Healing Clinic provided by the GET team has had a significant impact on our global workers, broadening their understanding of trauma and equipping them with practical tools for support. Participants reported gaining a deeper appreciation for trauma’s complexity, including insights into the amygdala’s role in processing traumatic experiences, the spectrum of trauma, and secondary traumatic stress. Many found the definitions and tools empowering, helping them reframe trauma as something beyond personal control, thus removing self-blame and stigma. This seminar not only enhanced their professional perspectives but also provided foundational strategies to support others effectively in trauma recovery.

It was our recent privilege to have Dr. Gerry and Elaine Tonn with us at Life Quest Church. Many times a smaller congregation cannot afford, or have the opportunity for such high-level ministry. In this instance, Dr. Gerry and Elaine made it possible that we could host them at our church, even with time and financial constraints. And what a blessing they were!
Dr. Gerry and Elaine presented, in a transparent, candid way, the seminar on “Grief”. They were engaging, instructional and sensitive in their treatment of a difficult topic. Our congregation expressed how greatly appreciative they were and are how they grew better informed on the subject.
We look forward to having another opportunity to learn from this caring, knowledgeable team. I highly recommend that you make room for personal or group ministry from Get Care Canada. It is an investment in wholeness and healing that reaps great spiritual and emotional rewards.
Rev. Jo-Anne Thomas - Life Quest Community Church, Brantford, ON
Our church enjoyed having Dr. Gerry and Elaine Tonn join us on a Saturday to go through the material of the Working Mind. It allowed us to gain the language and assessments to understand anxiety and stress both in our own lives and in those we lead. And it wasn't just a lecture-driven day, but a very helpful, engaging day where Dr. Tonn not only shared important insights, his own experiences, and relevant videos, but got participants engaged with each other on important topics to practically consider how they might handle various situations related to anxiety and stress. It was a valuable day for all those who came out. And as an added bonus, each person who attends the entire session gets a certificate from the Mental Health Commission of Canada indicating we have completed that one day course. I would definitely recommend Dr. Tonn to you if you are thinking of having him teach and lead this session for your group.
